While applying for a student visa or Permanent Residency in Australia, the applicant needs to meet the standard criteria in age, qualification, work experience, health, character, as well as the PTE score. The test is more relevant to applicants with an IT background. It is a recognised alternative to highly acclaimed English proficiency testing exams such as TOEFL and IELTS. Since 5 years, the Department of Immigration & Border Protection (DIBP) also accepts the PTE Academic test for programmes related to the – graduates, skilled migrants, working visa, visitor visa and resident visa applicants.

It is a computer-based academic English language test aimed at non-native English speakers wanting to study abroad. The PTE tests reading, writing, listening and speaking proficiency.

HOW PTE DIFFERS FROM IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a standardised test jointly conducted by British Council, Cambridge English Language Assessment and IDP Education.
